Killa KC - Kenton Clairmont

img_6806

Kenton’s passion for fitness started at a young age, running the mountains of North Idaho, and excelling as a multi-sport athlete. During Kenton’s high school athletic career he earned a State Title in Wrestling. After high school he was forced to choose between wrestling and his love for baseball. In 1992 Kenton chose to attend Lewis Clark State College where he was a catcher for the Warriors, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, as well as a teaching certificate in Physical Education and Health. Following college Kenton started coaching, and training high school athletes in baseball, football and wrestling. In 1999 Kenton strapped his catchers gear back on and was picked up by the Pirates organization. His dream to play professional baseball had finally become reality on July 4th, 1999 when he made his debut for the single “A” team, The Johnstown Johnnies. Since his release, Kenton turned his focus on mastering cutting edge training techniques and helping others to reach their full potential. After earning his Master’s degree in Physical Education/Sports Psychology at the University of Idaho he moved to Spokane where he has been training elite athletes, recreational athletes, as well as helping ordinary people reach extraordinary goals.
Kenton’s passions of serving others through fitness lead him to become the co-owner of FAST TRAC PERFORMANCE / CROSSFIT SPOKANE VALLEY. The only thing he enjoys more than seeing people reach their true physical potential is seeing the confidence they gain when they break through their self-limitations, accomplish their dreams and truly start to live.
When Kenton’s not training he enjoys outdoor adventure, spending time with family, and competing in anything physically challenging.

    Skinner - Mike Russert

    img_7220_2

    Skinner’s story:
I grew up out in the sticks of North Bend, WA.  I lived on my BMX bike.  It was an extension of my body, a day without my bike was a day wasted!  As far as school athletics, I was mainly a soccer player and I played one year of little league baseball. We lost all our games except one.  I stole home to win the game. .. yea me!  In high school I ran track on the “ B “ team because I used to stink at running.  I also pole vaulted and played football one year. By my Jr. year I figured chasing girls and partying was better than school, so I did my best to mess up my life.  I ended up at an alternative school and graduated a year late.  Thanks to God’s grace I became a Christian at 19 and shortly thereafter I got into mountain biking and rock climbing.  I met my wife Casi at age 21. It was my last week at Lake WA. Technical college and I was sitting with my buddies, when Casi happened to walk by.  I asked her for her phone number and she told me it was in the book.  Burned, right in front of my buddies!  I got a bunch of crap for that one.   Anyways… 3 beautiful kids later here I am.  I did race mountain bikes for 5 years up until 2002.   I became WA state downhill champ in ’02 and becaome introduced to CrossFit in late 2008 and have been hooked ever since.

    Snake - Jacob Burkhart

    img_7736

I was Born in Reno NV, but I have lived most of my life in Spokane WA.  My family moved around a lot, and we even spent a little over 2 years in Argentina, so I know how to speak some espanol.  My Dad’s name is Tom and my Mom’s name is Cris.  I also have a younger sister named Amy.  My whole family lives in Nor Cal, so I am the lone wolf up here in the north country.  I am married to a lovely young lady named Stephanie, and yes she really does exist.  She has a sister named Buffy and her parents names are Jeff and Tammy. Steph and I have 2 drop kick dogs….. Harley and  Dillon.  I went to school at Washington State University and graduated with a B.S. Degree in Kinesiology.  I am ISSA certified as well as Cross Fit level 1 certified.   My day job is working for The Business Development side of UPS. I consider my self a people person, and I also love helping people improve themselves.  This is a good thing, because most of what I do involves working with people.  I love being active, I don’t feel right in the head if I don’t do something.  I was a distance runner all though High School and did as many intramural sports in College as possible.  I love Cross Fitting, hiking, wakeboarding, running, sports, movies, reading, and trying new things.  Every once in a while I like to just sit and do nothing.  It helps if it happens to be by an ocean, lake or river.  This will usually involves a beer or a strawberry margarita.

I am addicted to cross fit and have zero interest in going back to the boredom of isolated muscle training. To me Cross Fit isn’t a job, it is a way of life.

Interesting fact: I would have pull up competitions with my friends dad on the swing-set when when I was 5 years old, guess I have always been a little competitive…
